Picnics to bring together local community into urbanism

Our partners from Fab Lab Reykjavík and the local municipality are hosting a series of Picnics in the Reykjavík pilot area, set to become a Cultural Vegetable Garden.

These events involve participants in the transformation process and educate them about GreenInCities' plans. The first Picnic included teachers, specialists from the University of Iceland, and the Reykjavik Botanical Garden, discussing how the environment could benefit educational programmes and make learning more dynamic.

They began a conversation about their vision for the environment and how it could be beneficial for educational programs, making learning more dynamic and engaging. The purpose of these picnics is to bring together the diverse local community including the elderly, children, students, immigrants, and other residents.
