Methodology
Collaborating and innovating together for better urban spaces
At GreenInCities, we embrace a holistic methodology that incorporates diverse perspectives through a deeply integrated co-creation process. Our approach unfolds in three dynamic stages—co-analysis, co-design, and co-monitoring—ensuring that every phase of urban development is collaborative, innovative, and inclusive.
CO-ANALYSIS: Understanding Our Urban Landscape
WHAT ARE THE KEY ELEMENTS INFLUENCING OUR URBAN SPACES? WHO IS SHAPING OUR CITIES?
In the Co-Analysis phase, we employ quantitative tools to identify stakeholders and analyse environmental threats, complemented by qualitative insights gathered through participatory systems and citizen science. This foundational understanding guides our targeted interventions.
CO-DESIGN and IMPLEMENTATION: Shaping Solutions Together
HOW DO WE DEVELOP SOLUTIONS THAT ADDRESS OUR ENVIRONMENTAL CHALLENGES? HOW CAN WE ENHANCE COMMUNITY DYNAMICS THROUGH INNOVATIVE URBAN FUNCTIONS? ARE ALL KEY PLAYERS INVOLVED IN THE DESIGN PROCESS?
During the Co-Design and Implementation phase, community desires lead to the creation of intervention plans, refined through decision support systems and digital twin simulations. This ensures our designs are both innovative and inclusive before implementation.
CO-MONITORING: Evaluating Impact and Adapting Strategies
ARE THE IMPLEMENTED SOLUTIONS ACHIEVING THEIR INTENDED IMPACT? ARE STAKEHOLDERS SATISFIED WITH THE OUTCOMES? HOW IS THE PROJECT INFLUENCING PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH IN THE COMMUNITY?
The Co-Monitoring phase validates the impact of our interventions using digital twin technology to collect performance data. This continuous feedback loop allows for the adaptation of strategies to evolving urban conditions, ensuring long-term success and stakeholder satisfaction.
