The GreenInCities approach to urban transformation
Cities are at the forefront of the climate crisis, grappling with rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and increasing pressures on natural resources. At the same time, they are responsible for 75% of global greenhouse gas emissions, making urban transformation a key lever for climate action.
In response to these challenges, GreenInCities is pioneering a new approach that integrates nature-based solutions with cutting-edge technology to build greener, healthier, and more resilient urban environments.
How is the project aligned with key EU initiatives like the European Green Deal and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)? How does GreenInCities incorporate the needs of human and non-human species in urban environments? How important are new technologies for the project?
In this interview, published by the Alter! Magazine and aligned with the MAIA Project, Déborah Camañes, Communication Manager at GreenInCities, talks about the key aspects of the project.
